Huni Kuin musicians gathering in the Amazon forest

The Vortex archive

Four experiences.
This is what happened.

The public record begins in 2022. It includes a 50-hour teacher training in Guatemala, an eight-day retreat in Mexico, ten days with the Huni Kuin in Acre and a men’s retreat in Austin co-created with Scott Seymour. They were different projects for different groups. We are showing them as they were.

Aldeia Pinuya · Acre, Brazil · 2023

Ten days in Aldeia Pinuya.

In November 2023, a small Vortex group travelled to Aldeia Pinuya, a Huni Kuin village in Acre. The community hosted us in its own territory. We lived in the village, kept its hours and took part in practices held by the people who carry them.

Patrick Belem helped hold the relationship, protocols and translation required for the visit. We were guests of the community. The experience is part of the Vortex record because it taught us how much the place and the way we arrive matter.

03 / What carries forward

The next chapter
is narrower.

The earlier Vortex work ranged across teacher training, retreat programmes and men’s work. The next chapter is not an attempt to package all of it into one product. It is a more specific direction: small hosted journeys for founders and operators, with less programming and more of the trip itself.

The working method

Choose the place carefully. Build the right group. Keep the programme light.

Some experiences may include movement, facilitated conversation or a local specialist. Others may not. We will state exactly what is included, who is responsible for it and what the experience does not promise.
